The rain of a blizzard

The rain of a blizzard

A few days ago I lost my dog, Izzy. My family had this dog ever since I was six years old so I grew up with her. I remember running around the yard and playing football with her, swimming with her, taking her on walks and hating the fact that I had to pick up her poop. She even inspired some of my early writing and poetry. She inspired my first poem in second grade: “I like dogs/do you like dogs?/Okay, that’s good/I have a dog and she is the best dog in the/whole world!!!” (Obviously the signs of poetic talent…) All I can say is that she was my best friend. She was fully part of my family and I loved her every bit as much as I love my parents and brothers. I am so thankful for her. Hugs and Kisses, Izzy. Thank you so much for everything. <3
