I am writing a curriculum for an 11th Grade British Literature class. Any texts you would recommend?

I definitely recommend Sir Gawain and the Green Knight since Arthurian legend is where Brit lit essentially began.

The Bible (as Literature) usually provides great indepth knowledge before diving down into Shakespearean-era texts. The Iliad and Odyssey too

War of the Worlds or The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. George Orwell is also good, as is Lord of the Flies. Avoid Thomas Hardy!

The Importance of Being Earnest (Wilde) and Loitering with Intent (Muriel Spark)
